#Journey #Episcopal Advent

Then Mary said, ‘Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.’ Then the angel departed from her.

In those days Mary set out and went with haste to a Judean town in the hill country.

Luke 1:38-39

A journey? they said...
oh yes.
YES.
I had said yes.
And it was, it was indeed.
My legs were tired,
but my spirit?
Bewildered
and yet full of joy.
Afraid?
Well, yes - and no.
I should have been.
Perhaps it's just as well
I had no idea
no idea at all
of the road ahead.
But I had said yes.
And so I set my feet
upon that road
that long road.
Like Elijah,
I was given
life-sustaining water
and bread for the journey.
